The short version

The toolchain does not phone home. It builds on your machine, reads your SDK from a path you give it, and checks your licence offline. We hold what you give us to buy and support a licence, and nothing else.

What the toolchain sends us

Nothing. There is no telemetry, no usage reporting and no licence check over the network. A build machine behind a firewall works normally, which is deliberate: a tool that stops working when it cannot reach us is a tool that fails during your release.

Two things reach us only when you ask them to: checking for a new version, and downloading one. Both are ordinary web requests you can see, and both are optional.

What this website holds

  • Your email address, and your name if you give one, so we can issue a licence to you and reach you about it.
  • A one-way scramble of your password. We cannot read it and neither can anyone who takes a copy of our database.
  • The licences we have issued you, and a reference to the payment each came from, so support can trace one to the other.

Payment details

We never see your card. Payment is handled by Paddle, who act as merchant of record and hold the card details themselves. We receive a confirmation that a payment succeeded, the email it was made with, and what was bought.

Who else sees it

Our hosting provider, Microsoft Azure, holds the data because it runs the servers and the database. Paddle handles payment. Nobody else, and we do not sell anything to anyone.

How long we keep it

For as long as you have an account, and afterwards only where we must for tax and accounting records. Ask us to delete your account and we will, keeping only what the law requires.

Your choices

Ask us for a copy of what we hold, ask for it corrected, or ask for it deleted. Write to us and we will do it.
